Human Resources 101 Workshop Panelists
(Updated December 2011)
Have you heard? On November 3rd 2011, TribeHR hosted a free human resources workshop for startups. Our expert panel shared their experiences, offered their insights, and answered your questions.
Did you miss the event? You can view the video online—while you won't get the chance to ask questions or expand your network, you can still pick up tons of great tips and tricks.
Our panel includes:
Kristina McDougall, Moderator (Director of Recruitment, The Laudi Group)
The Laudi Group is an executive search firm that specializes in matching top executives to technology companies. Kristina is their Recruitment Director for Southwestern Ontario. She knows exactly what it takes to find, recruit, and hire some of the sharpest minds in the business.
Every time someone says Brick Breaker, I wake up and 2 weeks have passed. Try again? Well, if you insist...
As the publisher of Red Canary—an online magazine for tech startups—Kristina and the Laudi Group have tons of ideas and insights that can help your business grow.
Ali Asaria (CEO, Well.ca)
With offices in Toronto, Guelph, and Kitchener-Waterloo, Well.ca is one of Canada's fastest growing ecommerce companies. Well.ca is like everything you've ever wanted in a drugstore, directly at your fingertips. Ali is the founder and CEO, who has lead the company through a massive period of growth over the past few years.
Prior to founding Well.ca, Ali worked at Microsoft and at RIM, where he was the man behind the Blackberry's Brick Breaker game—also known as "the reason I failed first year calculus*."
Rebecca Graham (Human Resources Manager, Enflick)
Enflick just announced a $1 million round of seed financing. The HR genius behind that operation is Certified Human Resources Professional Rebecca Graham. As if we needed to say more, there's a rumour going around that Enflick used the money to buy a helicopter, and Rebecca offered free flights on the afternoon of November 3rd. That's how serious she is about engagement. But it's probably just a rumour**.
Natalie Dumond (Human Resources Generalist, Miovision Technologies)
Keeping your team working together when you've expanded internationally is hard. Miovision has offices in both Canada and Germany, but Natalie Dumond manages to do just that. With HR experience in recruiting, selection, compensation, performance management and more, Natalie has a wealth of experience that she's eager to share with you.
